About the institute
THE LEADER YOU BECOME — Leadership Development Institute, founded by Jason R. Doll, offers independent, self-paced leadership education across professions and experience levels. Programs have no tuition or subscription fees. Certificates document completion of this institute's student-directed, non-accredited programs and are not independently verified qualifications.
This notice describes the cloud account system if it is enabled on the website. If cloud accounts are not yet connected, learning progress remains on the student's current browser.
Information collected
- Student account: name, email address, authentication-related identifiers and sign-in information managed by Google's Firebase Authentication service. We do not receive or store your password as readable text.
- Learning activities: course completion, quiz and assessment responses, decisions in practice challenges, progress reports, certificate records and student-entered reflection notes.
- Technical records: standard hosting and Firebase service data such as timestamps, device/browser data, network identifiers and security logs, as described by those providers.
Do not enter sensitive medical, student, personnel, client, criminal-case, or confidential organizational information into reflections or exercises.
How student data is used
We use account information to provide sign-in and password recovery, personalize your dashboard, save course progress across devices, generate completion records and protect your learning information. Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore process that information to operate these services. We do not sell student information or use it to make employment or academic selection decisions. Google sign-in is optional if enabled.
Storage and security
Signed-in learning records are stored in Cloud Firestore and cached in the browser for continuity. Firestore access rules are designed to restrict each learning record to its authenticated owner. Information transmitted to Firebase uses HTTPS. As with any internet service, security and uninterrupted availability cannot be guaranteed. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in information private and signing out of shared devices.
Students are advised to download occasional progress backups. Concurrent editing on multiple devices can produce conflicts; allow cloud synchronization to finish before switching devices.
Retention and account deletion
Learning records are kept while your student account is active unless you delete them. To delete your account and cloud learning data, sign in, open the initials/profile menu in the upper-right corner, and select Delete my student account and cloud data. You will be asked to confirm and verify your identity. Once completed, access to that account and its learning record will end. Limited backup, logs or legally required records may persist according to Firebase and hosting-provider retention policies.
To download your learning record, open Help & Privacy within the institute and choose Download my progress before deleting your account. Removing an account from one device cannot erase copies of exports you saved elsewhere.
Who may register
Student accounts on this website are intended for people age 13 or older. The institute does not knowingly offer account registration to children under 13. Those under 13 should not create accounts or submit personal information. If the institute later offers accounts to younger children, appropriate consent and child privacy safeguards must be put in place first.
About educational results
Assessments are developmental tools, not validated psychometric instruments. Learning activities and capstones are student-entered and not independently verified. Certificates are completion acknowledgments for independent, non-accredited educational programs; they are not licenses, professional qualifications or externally verifiable credentials. No payment details are required for these programs.
Contact, privacy questions and corrections
If you have a question about privacy, account access, course progress or corrections, please use our Contact Student Support form. The recipient address is not displayed on the public website.
Student Support messages are submitted to Formspree, our form-processing service, which processes your name, reply email address, topic and message and delivers the inquiry privately to the institute. Formspree may also process spam-prevention and delivery records as described in its privacy policies. We use the information you submit to respond. Avoid passwords and sensitive information. Replies sent from an email account may expose that sender address to you.
We can help you understand available account-access and deletion methods. This notice should be reviewed for applicable legal requirements before enrolling the general public.
